Supporting Communication in Daily Living

This group-based online service presented by a qualified Speech Therapist brings together a range of practical skill sets and tools to support parents/carers in empowering autistic individuals to undertake daily living tasks (meal times, waking up (transitions), bed time (transitions), self care and other activities.

This program is Designed by Speech Therapists and Occupational Therapists with experience in supporting Autistic clients in their home for daily living activities.

5 Group Sessions of 1 hour each

(5 hours of Speech Therapist Time + Speech Therapist preparation time).

Total Price (applying NDIS Rates) for 5 Sessions: $579.00 (Per Client)

Who is this for?

This 5 week program designed by an Occupational Therapist and Speech Therapist is for parents and carers of autistic individuals who are looking to support autistic individuals in their efforts to complete daily living activities.

What is involved?

5 accessible sessions made available online (1 hours each).
Each 1 hour group session hosted by a Qualified Speech Therapist
Attended via a video call by parents/carers and their respective children / autistic individual who they are aiming to support.
Each session covers a particular daily living activity with practical tips and visual support.

Can I use my NDIS Funding?

Yes, if you are Self Managed or Plan Managed.

Am I eligible?

Due to the specialised nature of this program and the limited spaces available to allow to effective delivery of this program, only eligible clients will be appropriate to benefit from this program.
Our team determines eligibility based on a range of factors and on a first come-first served basis.
Parents and Carers should only join / apply for the waitlist if:
- the relevant Autistic individual has a written ASD diagnosis
- the relevant Autistic individual attends a mainstream school
- the relevant Autistic individual is able to engage with content for at least 10 or 15 minutes (engagement does not mean that the individual has to be seated or stay in one place)
- the parent / carer is able to attend a video call (with stable internet connection) at 4.30pm Australian Eastern Standard Time
- the parents/carer are able to take the video call in a consistent place in the home of the autistic individual for every session.
If English is not the first language used at home, we recommend that you arrange a support worker or appropriate translator attends the call with the Parent / Carer.
