Communication. Connection. Collaboration.
Our Approach
Parents and carers are often the most influential people in a neuro-diverse individual's development. For this reason, we believe the best way to support you is by prioritising parent accessibility through a model that is dynamic, flexible and conveniently designed to support the parent / carer lifestyle.
There is a large amount of information and constantly evolving therapy approaches which can leave parents and carers overwhelmed and unsure of how to take the advice given by professionals or found online and turn it into meaningful / practical support.
This can be a seemingly impossible task for even the most dedicated parents / carers to bring it all together in a way that fits within their lifestyle and circumstances. The resulting gap can be the missing link to empowering parents and carers in supporting neuro-diverse individuals in developing.

This is where we can support you.

Our aim is to provide a bridge to these gaps and set our clients up for the best changes of success at any stage of their journey. Our support is designed to help in your particular stage of your journey. This could mean that you recently obtained a new diagnosis and are yet to see an Allied Health Professional. It could also mean that already have access to a Speech Therapists and Allied Health Team.

Our team brings the experience and capability of Allied Professionals (including Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Psychologists) to bring together key information for our clients on their neurodiversity journey - whatever stage that may be.

ASD Diagnosis
Ages 5 to 25: Waitlist Now Open - Expected Appointment Availability for approximately October & November 2023

Autism Diagnosis Package
The Autism Diagnosis Package is a comprehensive diagnosis package to ascertain whether a client meets the diagnosis criteria for ASD. This assessment is undertaken by a Psychologist in conjunction with a Speech Therapist using a multidisciplinary model to align with a number of recommendations of the Autism CRC National Guideline for the Assessment and Diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorders (see link here). Autism CRC is an independent national source of evidence for best practice in relation to autism across the lifespan and the spectrum.

What does the Autism Diagnosis Package involve?
The Autism Diagnosis Package is designed based on consensus team model (comprising of a Speech Pathologist and Psychologist) and includes the collection of information from parents (and other key stakeholders in the life of the client (i.e. teachers)) and results in a view being reached on whether the Client meets the diagnostic criteria for ASD (per the DSM-V). The service includes a combination of interviews / assessments undertaken by allied health professionals.

Clients can typically expect the following:
Client Appointment 1: This appointment is undertaken by a Psychologist and attended by the Client (with parent / guardian in attendance). This appointment will typically go for 1 hour. In this session, the Psychologist will gather Neurodevelopmental case history, undertakes a range of evaluation activities and provides instructions on the next steps in the process.

Client Appointment 2: This appointment is undertaken by a Speech Therapist and attended by the Client (with parent/guardian in attendance). This session can go for up to 2.5 hours during which the Speech Therapist will undertake observations and collect information for the purposes of the ASD assessment and diagnostic support component (i.e. MIGDAS, SRS).

Consultation between the Consensus Team

After receiving the information from the above processes, the Consensus Team shares information to enable the Psychologist to reach a view and prepare their views on the ASD diagnosis.

Client Appointment 3: This appointment is booked once the Psychologist has finalised their ASD Diagnosis (i.e. a report noting whether or not the Psychologist considers the client to meet the diagnostic criteria for ASD as per the DSM-V). This session goes for approximately 30 minutes during which the Psychologist talks through the ASD Diagnosis and provides further information for the Client / parents.

With our goal of improving access for clients, we typically can deliver this package via telehealth. However, in some circumstances we will require in person appointments to enable effective collection of information / observations an analysis. Our team will advise you on this during the process.
